This is like one of those great movies you stumble across. It didn't get a lot of big press but it is awesome! So cool to read a story about my sport instead of the boring training stuff. I hope there will be a sequel.

I just finished your book. I loved it! As a 45 yo female who dabbles in sprints and is triaining for her first HIM, it found it very motivational. I'll never be competitive enough to wear 'the red cap' but the dream remains at any level. Thanks for the excellent explanation of regrets from General!

"I couldn't put the book down, I blazed through it in about 3 days. It is a must read for any triathlete with high goals and standards, but it also teaches alot to the everyday person who doesn't live on the competitive edge. The novel is based on this statement: "Everyone has a dream. Not everyone has the courage to act on it." I not only enjoyed the book but learned alot from it. I will now approach things in my life with the attitude of "giving it hell" (as General told Trip before racing Kona). Read the book, you won't be disapointed."

Wow! I started reading your book the day before I left San Diego to race in my 1st Hawaiian Ironman...the detail was chilling and exciting! I continued to read it as I got closer to the start on Saturday, October 11th 2008. I just finished it now that I am back home. It was like reliving my own race...although not as fast as Trip, still had a great race (10:07). Thank you for writing this novel!
